| Country |
Argentina is the second largest country of South America and extends over
3,400 km from the north to the most southern point, Tierra del Feugo. The
country is divided into four zones: the Andes with the highest mountain
of South America, the Aconcagua (6959 m); the north (Chaco); the
pampas with its enormous herds of cattle; Patagonia in the south to
the most southern point of Tierra del Feugo. The Argentine mentality is closest
to the European, due to centuries of European influence. As a country for
travelling, Argentina is very expensive. |
| Climate |
The climate varies from sub-tropical in the north to cold temperatures in
Tierra del Feugo. From mid-December to the end of February Buenos Aires can be
very hot and humid with maximum temperatures between 27 and 35° Celsius.
During the Argentine winter (June-August) various skiing resorts - for example
Bariloche - are particularly inviting for skiers. |
